What is this you may ask? This beautiful piece of workmanship is a cannon. I guess I am now an official war photo journalist. They were in the midst of a battle.
Caleb is in charge of lighting the wick. Then Mary, um, is in charge of the “ball”. She grabs a pinecone, slides it up the pole….
Then Bekah, on guard…she’s the one with the broom handle, gives a mighty “boom” to provide sound effects and Mary “fires” the ball.
She the soldier in green, yes, the cute red head….I had a hard time getting a shot of her. She was busy providing ammunition. (AKA gathering pine cones, lol.) Very busy soldier.
See the little soldier…I could not get a clear idea of what exactly her purpose was during this battle. At this moment, she was distracted by an enemy war plane.
Even the youngest of the soldiers have mighty responsibilities….the guarding of the Red, White and Blue.
And this leads me to a deep, thought provoking question…..why do I buy toys for these people???
