A Good Read…
Last week at the library, I ventured away for my list and sought out some unexpected treasures. As I was flipping through some books, I saw Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney. Thunder Cake – Patricia Polacco
This book caught my eye at the library the other day and it is now a favorite of all the kiddos. Yes, even the 10 year old couldn’t resist cuddling up for this one! I think it hit a chord with me, because as a young child (ok, even in high school) I was terrified of storms. A treasure is found!
Caleb, 7, has been reading for some time and read so well! He will read to his younger sisters and will grab a pile of books on a variety of topics. He hadn’t really embraced the chapter books until recently. For Christmas, my mom gave him “Daniel Boone” – a Childhood of Famous Americans Book. Kerplink, kerplank, kerplunk….
those three little sounds will gather all the kiddos together…little and big! Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey is simply a joy to read! A delight!
